OREANDA-NEWS. March 2, 2011. Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia was a venue for negotiations with Finnish partners concerning implementation of two projects within the territory of the republic: Entrepreneurship in Rural Area in the Republic of Karelia and Murmansk Region and The Concept of Consulting in Agriculture and Its Organization in the Northwest of Russia. Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland, Finland's leading research institute in the field of agricultural and food research and agricultural environment research MTT Agrifood Research Finland, project managers and coordinators have taken part in the negotiation on the part of Finland. Implementation of these projects starts this year and will take three years.

Finnish colleagues together with the Russian experts have approved basic directions of implementation of these projects, as well as the program for 2011. Businessmen, cooperative societies, farmers are welcome to participate in these projects. In the focus of attention there will be such issues as organization of amateur and sports fishery in Finland and Russia, organization of hunting facilities, cultivation of fruit and berry crops according to modern technologies and their primary processing, organization of pre-sale preparation of potato (sorting, washing, drying, packing). Since April, training and practical seminars on these issues will be launched in the republic, and fact-finding trips to operating enterprises and facilities in Finland will be held in the end of the year.
