Specialists of the Yoriteleshdirilengaragumgurlusyk Production Department of the Garagumderyagurlushyk Production Association are engaged in reconstruction of the Hauzkhan water storage reservoir, the largest one in Mary Velayat. After the first phase of reconstruction has been complete by the end of the current year, the capacity of the reservoir will increase up to 850 million cubic metres.

An impetuous stream seethes at the mouth of the water-discharge facility. From there waters of the winter yield of the Karakum River are supplied to irrigate agricultural lands in Oguzkhan and Altyn Sahra Etraps.

Hydraulic builders are carrying out the work to build up the dam to increase the reservoir capacity. All necessary equipment and machines are used to fulfil this task. There are the maintenance shop and the campus with the favourable working and recreation conditions for builders nearby the construction site.

Over 70,000 tons of earth is moved in the construction site each month, of them 30,000 cubic metres are moved by dredge hoppers and 40,000 cubic metres by excavators. Gravel for the dam slopes are delivered from Kalaimor and Tejen. The large-scale project will enable to increase the capacity of the artificial water reservoir up to 1.5 billion cubic metres.
