OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2011. Freight One is sending more than 270 tanks to regions suffering from persistent wildfires. All the tanks will be incorporated into firefighting trains operating on the Russian Railways network.

More than 70% of the tanks will go to the regions of the Siberian, Far Eastern, Northwestern and Central Federal Districts, where, according to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the most serious wildfires have occurred.

This is the second year in a row in which Freight One is sending tanks to reinforce firefighting trains. Last year it sent more than 210 tanks. Firefighting trains completed 970 trips last year. Thus, for example, during the peak of the wildfires in Voronezh region, the firefighting trains of the Southeastern Railway, fitted out with Freight One tanks, localized fires on segments of the Liskin railway node in order to quickly restore the movement of passenger trains to the south.
