OREANDA-NEWS. December 06, 2011. As part of a visit of FAS delegation to Delhi (India), Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy, Deputy Head of FAS Russia and with the Chairman of India’s Competition Commission, Ashok Chawla held a meeting, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In course of the negotiations, the parties informed each other about the main areas of work of Russia and India in the field of competition policy and enforcement, the most interesting cases investigated recently and discussed in more detail some enforcement issued.

Top officials discussed cooperation between Russia’s and India’s competition authorities within BRICS, in particular, organisation of the Third International BRICS Competition Conference in India in 2013. The parties outlined forthcoming steps towards developing cooperation in this field. Andrey Tsarikovskiy shared FAS experience in organising the First International BRIC Competition in 2009 in Kazan.

The parties also discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the competition authorities of the two countries, in particular, a draft Memorandum on Understanding between the Federal Antimonopoly Service (the Russian Federation) and India’s Competition Commission, which determines the main areas and forms of cooperation between competition authorities of Russia and India.
