OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. Following the result of 2011 Pulkovo is the third biggest airport in Russia in respect of passenger flow. In 2011 Northern Capital Gateway LLC jointly with partner airlines has additionally introduced 14 scheduled flights. Four new air carriers began operation at Pulkovo and as well number of flights in existing routes has been increased. All that enabled to obtain 9.6 million passengers results and increase passenger flow by 13.8%.

Pulkovo Airport Basic Performance Indicators for December 2011

In December 2011 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 687 311 people, which represents a 20.4% increase against December 2010. •

The international passenger flow rate to non-CIS countries for December 2011 amounted to 242 413 people, which represents a 17.2% increase against the number of passengers carried over the same period in 2010. •

The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 369 111 people, which represents a 19.8% increase against December 2010.

The CIS passenger flow rate increased by 36.0% and amounted to 75 787 people.

The number of takeoffs and landings for December 2011 increased by 13.5% and amounted to 9 341 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 304 047 tons; an increase as compared to the same period in 2010 came up 13.9%.

The Basic Performance Indicators for 12 Months of 2011 Following the results of 12 months of 2011 the passenger flow rate at Pulkovo Airport amounted to 9 610 767 people, which represents a 13.8% increase against the same period in 2010.

The international passenger flow rate to non-CIS countries for 12 months of 2011 amounted to 4 117 683 people, which represents a 12.0% increase against the number of passengers carried over the period of 12 months in 2010.

The domestic passenger flow rate amounted to 4 482 430 people, which represents a 10.5% increase against the same period in 2010.

The CIS passenger flow rate increased by 42.5% and amounted to 1 010 654 people.

The number of takeoffs and landings for the 12 months of 2011 increased by 14.2% and amounted to 115 961 operations. The volume of the handled maximum takeoff weight was 3 790 278 tons; an increase as compared to the same period in 2010 came up 12.3%.

A slight decrease in the passenger flow rate of less than 2% is observed on Saint-Petersburg – Moscow route, it is associated with the opening of new destinations at Pulkovo Airport and the active development of high-speed rail link between the two capitals.

Last year the 1st of July was the peak day for the Airport, when 43 667 passengers were serviced. The maximum number of flights was recorded on June 17 – 538 flights.
