OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2012. The Scientific and Technical Centre of KAMAZ mounted the only test rig for testing vehicle chassis in Russia.

The unique test rig is able to simulate loads which a vehicle sustains when running on different roads – earth and asphalt ones, and also enables to check a vehicle in the “off-the-road” mode. So, it creates an atmosphere close to real conditions of vehicle operation. A tested KAMAZ vehicle runs over plates, and cylinders under it imitate chosen loads. An automated system registers changes in the state of each wheel, suspension and the whole chassis.

According to Danis Valeev, Director of the Scientific and Technical Center, Chief Designer of OJSC KAMAZ, the new development will enable to reduce a period of road tests and evaluate loads which the transmission and chassis of the vehicle resist. Besides, KAMAZ specialists will be able to optimize three-dimensional models of KAMAZ vehicles which engineers use to develop and design new models of trucks.
