OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2012. The 3rd CEN Training Course for the National Contact Points of the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office for the Commonwealth of Independent States was successfully held on May 28-31, 2012 at the Russian Federal Customs Service in Moscow.

The training was handled by the officers of the Central Enforcement Department at the premises of the Central Information Technology Customs Department. Representatives of the National Contact Points of the Customs Services of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan attended the Training.

In the course of the Meeting the practical issues of the new version of the CEN system were discussed. New structure and functions of the network were demonstrated to the RILO CIS NCPs. Our CIS colleagues acquired practical skills of work with the CEN database and its analysis. During the meeting the position of the Russian FCS concerning enhancement of NCP’s activities in the framework of the WCO enforcement tools’ modernization to meet new global challenges and threats was announced. As a result of the Training all the participants successfully passed the test and received appropriate certificates.

Besides, during the Meeting a draft Work Plan of RILO-Moscow for 2013 aimed at the intensification of the data exchange on seizures of drugs and psychotropic substances, tobacco products and IPR was approved.

In addition, a special attention of the participants was paid to the exchange of information on seizures of IPR goods with Olympic and Paralympic symbols and logos. The meeting took note of the need for a meeting of the target group to discuss the features of national legislations and develop a common mechanism to counteract the illicit movement of goods with the symbols of the upcoming Winter Games in Sochi.

The fourth CEN Training on the new version of the WCO CEN system focused primarily on its analytical and communicational applications is to be held from 3 to 5 of July this year.
