OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2012. Under the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of competition policy between the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation and Austria’s Federal Competition Authority, in June - July 2012 FAS representatives are undergoing training with Austria’s Federal Competition Authority, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

The training is organized under the framework of the Working Group on studying pricing on the markets of oil and oil products and methods of market performance, formed jointly by FAS Russia and Austria’s Federal Competition Authority.

During the training, representatives of both authorities are exchanging experience on analyzing the state of competition on the wholesale and retail oil markets in Russia and Austria. In particular, the parties are discussing specifics of market structure and pricing, approaches to defining geographical and product boundaries of oil product markets, criteria for establishing dominant position and companies’ ability to use market force on these markets.

FAS representatives are taking part in conferences and meetings devoted to analysis of oil markets in Austria and some other states of the European Union.
