OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2012. The winners of the II Annual Child Photo Competition of Equal Abilities, 'World in Children's Eyes' have returned from the Paralympic Games. MegaFon awarded winners in the 'Sports' nomination with a 4-day stay on the banks of the river Thames. There were three winners, but, to their great disappointment, one of the young photographers, Sasha Terentiyev, could not go due to health issues. However, he was with us all the way, and we brought him presents and greetings from the organizers of the Games, the athletes and the MegaFon team.

'Winning in the photo competition paved the way to the Paralympic Games for me. For the first time in my life I saw an event of this kind where I could watch people – some without hands or legs — jump, fly or dance. I realized that if you want something badly and train hard, then you will succeed', said Katya Lutsenko, winner of the 'World in Children's Eyes' competition.

Between August 28 and September 3, the children supported Russian athletes at the summer Paralympic Games and visited the most popular places of interest in London. They saw the opening ceremony of the Games, took a boat trip along the river Thames, paid a visit to the Westminster Abbey, took a look at the city from the famous London Eye and, of course, supported our national team at the most spectacular sport competitions in volleyball, table tennis, judo and powerlifting. The children also took part in a Photography master class with the famous blogger Rustem Adagamov, so that each of them took home not only tons of emotions but also quite a substantial photo-report about their trip.

More than 450 children from Russia, neighboring countries and beyond took part in the photo competition "World in Children's Eyes”. MegaFon was a partner of the "Sports"nomination, which aims to attract children's attention to living a healthy lifestyle and forming respect towards physically challenged people. It also seeks to integrate children from socially unprivileged families other children of their age group. MegaFon awarded the winners in the 'Sports' nomination with a trip to the Paralympics in London.
