OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2012. Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out the chance that members of the Single Economic Space (SES) may have problems in the future in light of Russia’s accession to the WTO.

“We cannot see all problems here, but we feel there will be some emerging,” Lukashenko said in an interview with Mir television channel, while speaking about Russia’s WTO membership.

Lukashenko underlined that there are practically no trade barriers between SES members (Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan), which means that “private businesses now have the opportunity to trade freely”.

The Belarusian president stressed the point that economic processes had started developing as they would in a single state.
