OREANDA-NEWS. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia held a summary meting of the Board and Trustees Council of the CCI of Russia Street Children Aid Center Charity Fund.

The meeting was attended by CCI of Russia President and President of the Fund Sergey Katyrin, General Manager of the CCI of Russia Street Children Aid Center Charity Fund Leonid Romanov, Co-Chairman of the Fund’s Trustees Council Oleg Soskovets, President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Oleg Poptsov, representatives of governmental ministries and departments, religious leaders, and members of nonprofit organizations.

Leonid Romanov who addressed the meeting with a summary report mentioned that, as part of comprehensive measures to improve demographic situation in the Russian Federation, administrative authorities of Russian constituent entities consistently take efforts to prevent cases of child abandonment, develop various forms of adoption, and improve legal regulation in the sector of guardianship of minors.

The Street Children Aid Center Charity Fund has provided assistance to 159 institutions in 37 Russian regions for the total amount exceeding 30 million roubles. The outreach activities under the Fund’s programs “Our Children’s Home” and “Trust Yourself” extended to orphanages, child care centers, boarding schools, rehabilitation centers for minors, temporary retention facilities for underage offenders, and juvenile prisons.

The Fund plans its work taking into account both newly received requests and analysis of support already provided. By providing school, soft and cabinet furniture, clothes, footwear etc. the Fund helped 46 child care centers in 23 Russian constituent entities to improve their living conditions. To increase the life level, to recover and improve health of disabled children, the Fund helped 18 institutions in 11 regions to acquire sensory interactive and medical equipment, vouchers to summer recovery camps and to arrange for treatment of sick children in healthcare institutions. Computer equipment, interactive facilities, textbooks, learning materials, brain games, and a joinery shop were furnished to 33 institutions of 19 regions in order to advance their educational environment.

Also, in April 2012, jointly with the Russian Spartak Club the Fund has conducted the XXVIII festival School Sports Day among fosters of orphanages and boarding schools. The festival was hosted by a children and youth’s sports school of Ryazanskaya Region. In October 2012, the XVII indoor basketball competition including 140 children was held in Krasnodarsky Krai. On 1 June 2012, WTC held a traditional festival devoted to the International Children’s Day for which more than 400 children were invited from Tverskaya, Bryanskaya, Kaluzhskaya, Ryazanskaya Regions, and Moscow. Thanks to a long-term cooperation between the Fund and the ITERA Oil and Gas Company, LLC 450 fosters of orphan homes from Tulskaya, Kaluzhskaya, Ryazanskaya, Vladimirskaya, Moscovskaya and Tverskaya Regions visited a New Year show on 25 December 2012 in the Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue. A New Year Party in the World Trade Center was visited by 68 children from Moscow and the Moscow vicinity.

The Fund is actively engaged in proceedings of governmental commissions for juvenile affairs and protection, for prevention of juvenile crimes. Over the last year, members of the Fund took part in four meetings of such commissions.

The largest contributions to the Fund’s budget were made by the CCI of Russia, World Trade Center Moscow OJSC, Expocentre CJSC, Moscow representative office of Aksencher Company, and Expertiza Independent Inspection Services.

The Fund members showed their highly appreciation of efforts taken by President of the CCI of Russia and President of the CCI of Russia Street Children Aid Center Charity Fund Sergey Katyrin, who always promptly responds to their issues and concerns, as well as by the Fund’s Trustees Council members including Chairman of SNG International Group of Companies Yuriy Shafranik and Advisor to General Manager of Sojuzpatent, LLC Alexander Gurtikov, who have been personally contributing to the Fund’s charity initiatives for many years.

The next to speak on the meeting was Anna Aleshina, Chairman of the Russian Council of the Spartak Society for Sports and Fitness who told the participants about close cooperation between the Spartak Society and the Fund. President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Oleg Poptsov, Co-Chairman of the Fund’s Trustees Council Oleg Soskovets, and clergy leader Hegumen Ioann expressed their views on measures against child abandonment and for support of families with dependant children.

Then the floor was taken by member of the Auditing Committee Marina Efimova, who summarized the achievements of the Chamber’s charity fund in 2012 by stressing that all its activities meet and completely comply with the Fund’s purposes. Money was applied in accordance with the budget, and no breaches were revealed in the activity of the Fund.

The meeting resolved to approve the Report of Auditing Committee and remained satisfied with the Fund’s operations. At the end, the meeting approved nominees to the Trustees Council.
