Russian Association of Retail Companies (ACORT) today held an Annual General Meeting attended by Minister of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, Viktor Yevtukhov, and Primorye Governor, Vladimir Muklushevsky.

The Association of Retail Companies (ACORT) was established in Russia in 2001. Nowadays, ACORT unites 38 largest domestic and international retailers, including such as AUCHAN, BILLA, BOSCO DI CILIEGI, DIXY Group, Lenta, Leroy Merlin, Wal-Mart Inc, Magnit, Media-Markt-Saturn, M.Video, METRO Cash & Carry, OBI, O’KEY, Real-Hypermarket, Sportmaster, Snezhnaya Koroleva, FINN FLARE, X5 Retail Group, Eldorado, Utkonos, and others.

The AGM of ACORT elected the new Board consisting of the following members:

Peter Boone - CEO of METRO Cash & Carry;

Sergey Galitsky - CEO of Magnit;

Jan Dunning - CEO of Lenta;

Stephan DuCharme - CEO of X5 Retail Group;

Jean-Pierre Germain - CEO of AUCHAN;

Vugar Isaev - Snezhnaya Koroleva;

Patrick Longuet - CEO of O’KEY;

Alexander Tynkovan - CEO of M.Video;

Nikolay Fartushnyak - CEO of Sportmaster;

Lev Khasis - Wal-Mart Inc;

Ilya Yakubson - CEO of DIXY Group.

The newly elected ACORT Board re-elected unanimously Ilya Yakubson, CEO of DIXY Group, as the Chairman of ACORT.

“Last year we made significant progress in the collaboration between the Association and the authorities. We managed to position the Russian retail industry as one of the most crucial drivers of the social and economic development of the country,” - said Ilya Yakubson, Chairman of ACORT.

“The Association participated actively in the Russian retail industry regulatory environment developments, and collaborated efficiently with the Government, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. ACORT has always been protecting the interests of its members, acting for the benefit of the whole Russian retail market,” - Mr. Yakubson concluded.
