OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2014. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in December 2013 inflation rate in Moldova amounted to 0.8 %, while in December 2013 it made 0.5%.

According to the NBS, in 2013 food prices increased by 7.6%, non-food prices- by 4.6%, prices for services rendered to population – by 2.9%. At the same time, in December 2013, food prices grew by 0.8 %, non-food prices – by 1.8% and tariffs for services increased by 0.1%. According to official statistics, in December 2013 the prices of potatoes increased by 17.7%, grapes - by 13.9 %, fresh vegetables - by 9.5%.

In particular, prices for onions grew by 25.5%, tomatoes - by 16.5%, cabbages - by 10.4%, peppers - by 8.8 %, cucumbers - by 8.2%, carrots – by 3.6 %. Prices for fat increased by 3.6% , milk - by 2.9%, pork - by 2.5% , sour cream and cream – by 2.1%, cottage cheese – by 1.7% , pork , cheese and salt cheese - by 1.4% , peasant oil - by 1.2 %, fish and canned fish - by 0.8%.

At the same time, in December 2013 the decline was registered in the prices of citrus fruits – by 5%, sugar and vegetable oil - by 0.8%. As regards the non-foodstuffs the increase was registered in the prices for clothing - by 0.5%. In particular , prices for men's fur coats and winter jackets grew by 2 % and 1.1 %, respectively , evening dresses for women – by 2.1% , women's and children's coats, scarves , men's hats, children's socks and tights – by 1 %, etc. At the same time, in December 2013 prices have decreased for women's swimwear - by 2.5% , vacuum cleaners and children's summer sandals - by 0.5% , bicycles , fans , telephones , fax machines and other means of communication – from 0.1 %- up to 0.4 %.

Among the services rendered to population in December 2013 the increase was registered in the tariffs for international rail transport - by 4.4%, urban transport - by 1.8% ( in Orhei , Comrat ) and air transportations- by 1%. Foreign tourism services increased by 0.8 %, personal care products - by 0.7 %, catering - by 0.4%. In December 2013 the decline was registered in the prices for kindergarten and nurseries services by 2%.
