OREANDA-NEWS. For more than 100 years, International Paper has demonstrated a strong and unwavering commitment to sustainability, and to supporting the continued development and regeneration of millions of acres of forests around the world. As an example of this commitment, ZAO International Paper took part again this year in Reforestation Day at Tikhvin District, an annual event for the District and a one of key event in the calendar for ZAO International Paper.

This year, 4800 seedlings were planted across a territory of about 1.5 hectares. International Paper employees from the company's mill in Svetogorsk took part in the event together with company employees from Tikhvinsky KLPH.

“Maintaining forests as renewable resources is essential both to our planet and to our business. That's why we engage in sustainable forestry, which provides for a constant cycle of planting, managing, harvesting and replanting trees”, - said Ksenia Sosnina, President of International Paper Russia. “Sustainable forestry is an increasingly important practice in Russia, and a significant element of sustainable development as a whole. Land stewardship is one of our core values as a company and a key responsibility we undertake in the communities in which we operate”.
