OREANDA-NEWS. September 12, 2014. Prime Minister Karim Massimov has chaired a regular cabinet meeting in Ukimet Uiy.

Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Yerbolat Dossayev informed about the position of Kazakhstan in the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum in 2014-2015. Of 144 countries, Kazakhstan took 50th place with an average score of 4.42, while maintaining its position in the group of countries in the transition position from the second stage of effective development to the highest third stage of innovation development.

Finance Minister Bakhyt Sultanov reported on implementation of the Comprehensive Privatization Plan for 2014-2016.

According to the Minister, the number of objects sold increased from 295 to 304 Total sold 42 items, including 1 republican property, 15 communal, 8 holdings, 18 SBC. Selling price amounted to 1 billion 339 million tenge with a starting price of 990 million tengein whole. Buyers were 42 persons, including 24 individuals, 15 juridicalentities, 1 nonresident, 2 individual entrepreneurs.

Vice Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Askar Buribayev presented the draft Concept of the cultural policy of Kazakhstan.

According to him, the draft Concept reflects a long-term vision of development of the sector aimed at formation of a competitive cultural mentality, development of modern cultural clusters.
"Concept of "cultural code of the nation" is among the most important provisions of the Concept; it includes seven components: heritage, traditions, customs, language, family, economic system and holidays. Priority area is activation of public-private partnerships and business initiatives," A. Buribayev said.

Submitted draft Concept has been approved by the Government.

Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov spoke on development issues of domestic agribusiness competitiveness under the EEU and the entry into the WTO.

"A great deal of work on harmonization of normative legal acts of the three EEU countries has been done. As a result, about 17 agreements were signed, including agreements on veterinary, phytosanitary, technical regulation, regulation in the area of trade. The whole normative legal act has been formed and accepted," A. Mamytbekov assured.

Minister reminded that the program "Agribusiness 2020", which provides for a gradual increase in state support measures 4.5 times until 2020, as well as private investment was adopted at the request of the President.

"The program includes measures of financial recovery, new tools for investment subsidies. These tools have been expanded; subsidy rules have been approved today," A. Mamytbekov said.
