OREANDA-NEWS. The meeting between Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee was held within the 4th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

The routine communication within the joint working group on initiation and location of new CNG filling stations as well as on the number of newly produced gas-driven KAMAZ trucks and their distribution areas was noted to be in full swing. Gazprom adjusts its CNG filling station construction schedules based on KAMAZ-submitted data.

KAMAZ is Russia's leading producer of vehicles running on compressed gas. In particular, gas-powered NEFAZ buses are used in Kazan, Sochi, Astrakhan. Municipal gas vehicles on KAMAZ chassis showed their efficiency and fuel saving in many cities of Russia. In addition, the KAMAZ-master rally team in cooperation with Gazprom designed the special edition sport-truck - gas-fueled KAMAZ. It made its successful debut in the 2013 international Silk Way Rally Raid having proved the reliable performance of gas equipment in the most extreme environment.

Alexey Miller and Sergey Kogogin stressed that the cooperation between Gazprom and KAMAZ would be continued. Development of means for the NGV competitiveness enhancement; simultaneous construction of CNG filling network and NGV servicing facilities; introduction of NGV operational and maintenance staff training procedures were mentioned to be the top-priority activities.
