OREANDA-NEWS. 62% of the owners of domestic cars older than 2004 manufacture year prefer to service a car by themselves or with the help of friends and acquaintances. Foreign cars of the same age are served by their owners much less - 39%. Such data has been obtained by the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", when in 2014 it was organized and conducted telephone surveys of car owners in all federal districts of Russia.

To determine the preferences of car owners by service points in the questionnaires there were questions related to the annual maintenance and repair of vehicles, the number of calls to a car wash and tire service. Among the respondents were residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and regional, provincial and district centers of various regions of the Russian Federation. It allowed the experts to take into account the preferences of service vehicles in big cities and small towns, as well as regional peculiarities of their operation.

By assessing the data, analysts in the marketing report "Russian car service market”, noted another such feature: the number of vehicles serviced at official dealers, with increasing age are decreased from 89% to 3% - among foreign cars and from 65% to 2% - at home brands. Repair and maintenance is implemented at independent service centres by 9% of car owners of 2011 - 2014 issue of foreign brands and 22% - domestic. But with a further increase of the age of the car, the share of owners, who came to service stations, decreases.
