OREANDA-NEWS. The method developed by experts of Polyus Research Institute, a Moscow-based enterprise of the Holding, is intended to be used with inertial measurement units, in particular, with laser gyroscopes and pendulous accelerometers. The invention improves measurement accuracy during bench tests that precede the commissioning of various machines and devices.

"To make products manufactured in Russia competitive, manufacturers should implement advanced high-end technologies. IT measuring and control systems ensuring workflow accuracy and precision and, in this way, high product quality are an integral part of such technologies. The method we developed is very important in this respect. The disadvantages of technical solutions that are closest to our method are their relatively low accuracy, since device precision measurements do not take into account errors arising due to vibration-rotation movements of the test bench, and also a narrow scope of application of the existing methods. The method developed by our researchers eliminates such disadvantages," says Nikolay Rakovich, Shvabe's Deputy General Director for R&D and Innovative Development.

The advantage of inertial measurements is in the fact that such measurements compensate for vibration-rotation movements of impact and vibration test benches, so that only real errors of measurement units are estimated during mechanical impact.

Laser gyroscopes, for which the error estimation method patented by Shvabe researchers is so relevant, are currently considered to be the most high-end and unique products. Currently, these are the most advanced navigation and motion stabilization devices for a wide range of vehicles. They are also important in research. Moreover, lager gyroscope production accumulates and encourages the development of latest technology, including nanotechnology. The demand for such devices has been growing steadily along with the requirements to their precision and operational characteristics.
