OREANDA-NEWS. The Board of Directors of T2 RTK Holding LLC has appointed Sergei Emdin as the CEO of the Tele2 mobile operator, replacing Mikhail Noskov. Formerly the CEO of Northern Capital Gateway, the operator of St Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport, Sergei Emdin will focus on further strengthening the company’s position as a universal and fully integrated mobile operator and will aim to increase growth in the data-products segment.

Yuri Soloviev, Chairman of the Tele2 Board of Directors and First Deputy President and Chairman of VTB Bank Management Board, said. “We are grateful to Mikhail Noskov for his significant contribution to the company’s success. Tele2 achieved spectacular results under his leadership, becoming a nationall operator, integrating Rostelecom’s mobile assets and leading a successful launch in Moscow. Mikhail will now assume responsibilities for business projects outside VTB Group. Tele2 objective is now now tofurther expand its network infrastructure and subscriber base. I am convinced that having managed the large-scale renovation of the Pulkovo airport, Sergei Emdin will lead Tele2 to another level of development.”

Sergei Emdin was born in 1971 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg). In 1994, he graduated from St Petersburg State University and Kansas State University, and went on to graduate from Harvard Business School in 1998 and Irkutsk State Technical University in 2008. He holds a PhD in economics. In 1994-2000 he worked for McKinsey & Co office in Moscow. From 2000 he worked in a number of management roles for Severstal. In 2002 he was appointed Executive Director, and worked as Irkutsenergo Director General in 2005-2008 and June 2009-March 2010. From May 2008 until May 2009 he was CEO of EvroSibEnergo. From April 2010 until February 2016 he was CEO of the Northern Capital Gateway Consortium, the operator of the Pulkovo airport in St Petersburg.
