OREANDA-NEWS11 August en route from Moscow to Riga electric vehicles of the international rally "80EDAYS - ELDURO - 2016" stopped in the city of Rzhev of the Tver region to recharge. Power engineers of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre met the foreign crews and provided the conditions for charging the batteries of electric Tesla cars.

For this purpose from the 10/0.4 "Poyavilovo-2" package transformer substation special stations were installed for recharging the electric vehicles. When preparing feeding outlets IDGC of Centre’s experts paid special attention to safety of the temporary electricity supply circuit for the electric vehicles and crew members.

Please, be reminded that the main purpose of the travellers to overcome the trip around the world in 80 days, to beat the previous record for electric cars on the motor rally "80EDAYS - GENESIS - 2012", when the same distance was overcome for 127 days.

"Russia met us very well. We are pleased that our idea to show the world cars, saving nature, found that support. In Rzhev we were received with special warmth. It is very important that the experts found out in advance all the technical details and started charging quickly and smoothly, as we care every minute," shared Elizabeth Blum, an Austrian member of the crew "80EDAYS - ELDURO - 2016.

As stated on the official rally website, this journey is not only a serious test of endurance of electric vehicles themselves, but also a test of the international community: as far as we are ready that electric cars will begin driving on the streets of cities in everyday life.

It is well known that the issue of development of the charging infrastructure is relevant today in most countries, not by chance that in Russia the intercontinental race of electric cars is supported by PJSC "Rossetti". The energy company is the main driver of the national charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and also in favour of increasing the environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of all consumers, including industrial producers and residential customers.

IDGC of Centre, as a subsidiary, also continues the policy of development of the system of filling stations for environmentally friendly transport in the regions of its service area. Thus, in June 2016 within the framework of the XX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev discussed with Acting Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya implementation of agreements associated with the development of electric grid facilities of the region. The executives, including, raised the issue of creating in the Tver region of the charging infrastructure.

This theme was continued at the meeting of the company’s management "Renault Russia" with First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in this area and reached an agreement on exploring options for construction of charging stations.
