OREANDA-NEWS Kazakhstan expects a response from the Russian Federation on the resumption of its oil exports via the Druzhba oil pipeline, said the Minister of Energy of the Republic Yerlan Akkenzhenov.
"I personally addressed the official request. One-on-one. The request has been transmitted... Regarding the resumption (of Kazakh oil exports via Druzhba - ed.), we have such a technical opportunity. We are waiting for a response from the Russian side," Akkenzhenov said during a government briefing.
In April, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that from May 1, Kazakh oil supplies to Germany would be bypassed by the Druzhba oil pipeline due to technical capabilities. In this regard, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan adjusted transit and redirected part of the export volumes of oil along alternative routes, including through the port of Ust-Luga and the system of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
