OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev approved changes to the territorial planning scheme of the Russian Federation, which included the construction of the Novatek offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) transshipment complex in the Murmansk region with a capacity of over 20 million tons per year.  The corresponding order was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

 The document was supplemented with the words “construction of a liquefied natural gas transshipment complex in the Ura bay with a capacity of 20.875 million tons per year (Murmansk region, Kola district, closed administrative-territorial unit Vidyaevo, rural settlement Ura-Guba)”.  Thus, the government approved the construction of the NOVATEK LNG terminal in the Murmansk region.

 In January 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin commissioned a terminal for receiving liquefied natural gas from a floating platform in Kaliningrad.
