OREANDA-NEWS  For the first time in Russia, specialists from the Rosneft Moscow Scientific Institute have developed a formulation and production method for a new low—tonnage chemical product, a peroxide polymerization initiator. The formulation of the product, which consists entirely of domestic raw materials, is not inferior to the best world analogues, and in some respects significantly exceeds them, the company said in a statement.

Polymerization initiators are used in industrial processes for the production of additives to diesel fuels, as well as various polymers (plastics, rubbers, paints, adhesives, and more).

Successful tests of the new product were carried out at Rosneft's production sites — the Angarsk Polymer Plant and the Angarsk Catalyst and Organic Synthesis Plant.

Rosneft notes that the approach developed by the company's scientists to synthesize new structures in the future will form the basis for the development of a whole range of polymerization initiators in demand in Russia.
