OREANDA-NEWS  Following the results of trading on Tuesday, August 19, the cost of both brands of gasoline traded on the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange exceeded historical highs, which last happened in September 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the site.

The price of Ai-92 rose by 0.93 percent, to 71,970 rubles per ton, and Ai-95 — by 1.29 percent, to 81,337 rubles. Also, for the first time in recent years, diesel fuel has shown a sharp increase — plus 1.66 percent, to 60,256 rubles, although this is still less than the maximum since the beginning of the year, reached in April.

Stock prices for gasoline are rising against the background of traditional summer demand, which turned out to be slightly higher due to the numerous closures of Russian airports, prolonged scheduled repairs of oil refineries and renewed drone attacks in recent weeks.

According to media reports, a number of enterprises have temporarily stopped accepting oil for refining, it is not reported how long it will take to restore full-fledged operation.

Earlier it became known that Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who oversees the energy sector in the government, instructed the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and the Ministry of Energy to identify the causes of the sharp price increases in the DPR, LPR, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia industries, as well as supply disruptions in a number of other regions.
