OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2016. Instagram has announced an update to its popular social photography app that makes it a little easier for iOS users to upload photos directly from any iPhone app.

Version 8.2's latest trick takes a step out of the Instagram photo uploading process by adding a shortcut extension to the iOS Share menu in iOS apps, including the native Photos app.

That means you no longer have to switch back to Instagram, press the camera button and select a picture to post a photo after taking it. You can add a caption from the shortcut menu too, but you'll have to go the old route if you want to use filters.

The feature has been a long time coming. Other apps, such as Flickr, Camera+, Pocket and more, have had their own extensions since iOS 8 debuted the tool for developers back in 2014.

The new Instagram update should avoid the divisiveness of the previous update, which included a new icon design.
