OREANDA-NEWS  Three of the four Vanguard-class nuclear submarines in service with the United Kingdom simultaneously left their bases and set sail. This was reported by The Times, citing a source who called such activity "unusual."

The simultaneous presence of three such submarines on duty or in transit is rare. As a military expert explained to Sky News, at least one of the boats carries ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads and is on routine patrol. The second is preparing to go on combat duty, and the third is probably undergoing sea trials.

According to the expert, such a deployment can be seen as a signal to NATO allies and potential adversaries.

Earlier, British Defense Minister Wes Streeting said that the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to "defend every inch of its territory" in the war against Russia. According to him, at the same time, the NATO countries have no differences with the Russian people and they do not want a war with Russia. He stressed that NATO is a defensive alliance. In addition, Streeting noted that they will continue to provide support to Ukraine.
