OREANDA-NEWS. Last month the Russian automotive market, which left TOP-5 of European leaders in July, moved up to the third place in the rating of the largest automotive markets in Europe. As analytics of AUTOSTAT noted, our country improved its own position in “European competition” due to the traditional drop in summer sales in Europe.

According to data received by AUTOSTAT from European Automobile Manufacturers’ Associations, in August Germany remained the leader in car sales with 245,076 vehicles (+8.3%). France took the second place with 118,418 sold vehicles (+8.3%). If we take into account the results of Russia – our country moved up to the third place in the European rating. According to preliminary estimates of AUTOSTAT, last month sales of passenger cars were about 106,000 vehicles (without LCV). Then came Great Britain, where dealers sold 81,640 vehicles (+3.3%).
