OREANDA-NEWS  Georgia reduced wine exports to Russia by a fifth in August, to the lowest level since April this year, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of Georgian customs data.

So, at the end of summer, Russian companies imported Georgian wine for $ 13.7 million against $16.8 million a month earlier. This was the lowest value since April of this year, when Georgia's exports amounted to only 12.9 million dollars.

In general, Georgia reduced wine exports to other countries by 15.5% in August, to $20.1 million. Despite the decline in demand, Russia remains the main consumer of Georgian wine in the world. Poland is in second place with imports of $ 1.4 million, while Ukraine closes the top three with 986.3 thousand dollars.
