OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of 2026, Russia has imported 216,000 tons of potatoes, which is 20% lower than in the same period last year. This decrease is due to the high potato harvest in 2025, according to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

"This year, there has been a downward trend in the import of potatoes from abroad. Since the beginning of the year, the import of potatoes has decreased by 20% to around 216,000 tons," the ministry said.

The ministry added that Russia achieved a high yield of vegetables and potatoes in 2025, with 7.6 million tons and 8.5 million tons, respectively.
