The United States has tripled its purchases of coffee from Russia

OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first quarter of 2026, the supply of instant coffee from Russia to the United States increased by 3.5 times in monetary terms, reaching $641.9 thousand. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In March, the volume of supplies decreased by almost a quarter, reaching \$191.4 thousand. On the other hand, chicory, which is an alternative to coffee, showed an opposite trend.
In the first quarter, its supply to the United States decreased by 15 percent, to \$13.8 thousand, but in March, there was a 41 percent increase in monthly terms and a 20 percent increase in annual terms, to \$3.4 thousand.
The main exporters of instant coffee to the United States are Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil, while the main exporters of chicory are France, India, and Poland.
Earlier, it was reported that in January and February, the volume of takeaway coffee sales in Russia decreased by three percent compared to the same period last year, while the average check increased by 8 percent, to 233 rubles. At the same time, the demand for coffee at self-service points, where the cost of the drink is lower, is steadily growing.
