OREANDA-NEWS   The main importers of tangerines have reduced supplies to Russia due to crop failure. But the Ministry of Agriculture does not expect a shortage of tangerines for the New Year's table - the dropped volume will be replaced at the expense of other countries.

The Ministry of Agriculture does not expect a reduction in the supply of tangerines on the Russian market, the ministry said. The ministry explained that "the decrease in imports of mandarins from some countries will be compensated by an increase in imports from other countries."

Thus, as of November 27, the import of tangerines from South Africa (plus 35%), Morocco (plus 9%), South Korea (plus 5%) and other countries increased compared to the same period last year. Deliveries from China have resumed.

Marina Petrova, CEO of Petrova 5 Consulting, explained to Rossiyskaya Gazeta that this year in the Northern Hemisphere, due to adverse weather events, the harvest of tangerines decreased by an average of 13%. At the same time, a decrease in the harvest in Morocco was recorded at the level of 33%, in Turkey - by 27% and in Tunisia - by 17%. Namely, these countries remain the main suppliers of tangerines to Russia.
