OREANDA-NEWS Companies that decide to continue working in Russia will receive all the conditions for development, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"Companies that honestly fulfill their obligations to the Russian consumer, to their teams, to the Russian economy, we will continue to create all conditions for them to develop here," he said.

According to the minister, among the companies that have "seriously invested" in Russia and have their production facilities here, "a few units" announced the suspension of activities. He added that the ministry "understands" that companies are freezing investments because they are under "strong pressure."

Over the past two weeks, dozens of foreign companies in various industries have announced the suspension of activities in Russia.

On March 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that with regard to those companies that want to close their production facilities in Russia, "we need to act decisively" and "introduce external management and then transfer these enterprises to those who want to work." The Government Commission on Legislative Activity has already approved the idea of "nationalization of the property of foreign companies" leaving the country.

Putin added that Russia does not want to be a closed country and is open to working with all partners "who want it themselves." The rights and interests of those investors and companies that will maintain a presence in the country will be reliably protected, the head of state said.
