OREANDA-NEWS  The production of black caviar in Russia is growing and this year it will reach about 88 tons, but it is unlikely to return to the Soviet figures in the foreseeable future, Alexander Panin, chairman of the Fish Union, told RIA Novosti.

"In 2025, the volume of caviar production in Russia, according to forecasts of the Fish Union, may reach 88 tons, which will be higher than in 2024, when about 82 tons were produced. Of course, these figures are not comparable with the record volumes of the Soviet Union, when it was possible to produce about 2.3 thousand tons, and it is unlikely that we will be able to return to such results in the foreseeable future," he said.
