Russia has approved the first GOST for farm products

OREANDA-NEWS The first GOST for farm products was approved in Russia, Roskachestvo reported.
"By order of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology, a new national standard GOST R 72236-2025 "Sale of farm products. Information for consumers. General requirements", which will be applied by organizations and individual entrepreneurs providing services for the sale of farm products," the report says.
It is noted that the standard defines the general requirements for labeling such products in the development of the provisions of the Federal Law on Peasant (Farmer) Farming, laying the foundation for the promotion of farm products.
Roskachestvo added that the new standard is based on the principles of maximum honesty and transparency in communication with the customer. Clear visual identification of farm areas in sales channels, clear and reliable information about the producer (name of the farm, location), the composition of the product and its features – all this is aimed at an informed consumer choice. The standard is designed to give the buyer confidence that he really supports a small domestic producer and receives a farm product.
"The new national standard is aimed at clearly dividing shelves for real farm products, supporting domestic small agricultural producers. The main purpose of the new document is to create a transparent and honest environment for both buyers and real small agricultural producers in Russia," Elena Sarattseva, Deputy head of Roskachestvo, commented on the changes.
"The approval of the standard is an important step in ensuring the reliability of information about farm products. The document establishes uniform requirements for its identification and labeling, which will increase market transparency and protect the interests of both bona fide producers and consumers," said Anton Shalaev, head of Rosstandart.
