OREANDA-NEWS The trade turnover between Russia and China has shown significant growth rates for the second month in a row, according to data from Chinese customs officials. This is reported by TASS.

In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of bilateral trade increased by 14.8 percent, to $61.25 billion, after rising by 12 percent in January-February.

China's shipments are still inferior in volume to Russia's — $27.66 billion versus $33.59 billion — but have increased at a much more rapid pace. Beijing increased them by 22.1 percent in three months, while Moscow increased them by 9.5 percent.

In 2025, amid the threat of secondary sanctions from the US authorities, the volume of Russian-Chinese trade decreased by 6.9 percent to 228.1 billion dollars after record growth in 2023 and 2024, when the figure exceeded 240 billion.

Earlier it became known that supplies of Russian agricultural products to China increased at the beginning of the year by 29 percent in weight and 43 percent in value, to 2.7 million tons and 2.4 billion dollars, respectively.
