The popularity of such facilities is also due to the peculiarities of trade with China. A significant part of the containers in which goods arrive in Russia must then be returned back to China empty. This is unprofitable for business, so some containers have become more actively sold on the domestic market.

According to the expert, container houses cost about 1.5-2 million rubles. They can be adapted for living or used as garages, workshops and storerooms. However, such an object cannot receive the status of an apartment building and is considered a non-capital building. You cannot register in a container house or take out a mortgage for its installation, but at the same time the building is not subject to property tax.
