The EU has increased the import of sweets from Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The European Union (EU) has increased imports of confectionery products from Russia. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from Eurostat.
It is noted that in the period from January to August, sweets worth 13.5 million dollars arrived from Russia to the European Union. According to Eurostat, this is six percent more than in the same period in 2024.
The EU imported chocolate and chocolate products worth more than six million dollars, bakery products worth more than four million dollars, as well as sugary confectionery products worth two million dollars.
Earlier, the European Union increased imports of Russian seafood by a quarter in the first seven months of 2025. Germany, France and Poland became the biggest buyers within the association. In total, almost 444 million euros worth of seafood arrived from Russia to the EU in the first seven months of this year.
