The NATO country has significantly increased the supply of popular fruits and vegetables to Russia

OREANDA-NEWS From January 1 to August 20, the total volume of Turkish fruit and vegetable supplies to Russia increased by 8.3 percent compared to the figure for the whole of 2025. A noticeable increase in imports of these types of products from the NATO country is reported on the Rosselkhoznadzor website with reference to data from Argus-Phyto.
During the reporting period, Turkish exporters shipped a total of 524.8 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables to Russia. The achieved result turned out to be more than for the whole of last year.
The main driver of growth was the supply of fruits. Shipments of tangerines from the Mediterranean country during this time jumped by 39.2 percent, to 224.3 thousand tons, nectarines — by 2.6 times, to 62.6 thousand. Exports of apricots (plus 47.9 percent, up to 40,000), peaches (plus 31.4 percent, up to 36.9 thousand), and grapefruits (plus 27.5 percent, up to 22.7 thousand) also showed positive dynamics.
Russia, in turn, is actively increasing the supply of agricultural products to the Turkish market. Thus, in the first half of 2026, shipments of domestic barley to the NATO country increased 12.3 times year-on—year, and wheat - 1.9 times. Corn exports jumped by 19 percent in early summer. This dynamic has allowed Russia to gain a foothold in the list of the largest food suppliers to Turkey.
