OREANDA-NEWS  In the first half of 2026, retail wine sales in Russia fell by 2.7 percent. This is reported by Interfax with reference to data from Rosalokoltabakcontrol (RATK).

According to the agency, sales of grape wine decreased to 26.4 million decaliters (dal) in six months. Fruit wines sold 895.7 thousand dal (minus 37.4 percent), liqueur wines — 551.1 thousand dal (minus 5.6 percent). Sparkling wine sales increased by 3.9 percent to 10 million dal.

In the segment of alcoholic beverages, an increase of 11.5 percent was recorded, to 9.7 million dal. Vodka sold 35.3 million dal in six months (plus 0.2 percent). Cognac sales decreased by 2.4 percent to 6 million dal.

From January to June, beer sales decreased by 0.2 percent, to 290.4 million dal, beer drinks — by 1.8 percent, to 44.7 million dal. During the specified period, 5.5 million dals of cider were sold (plus 29.4 percent more), 64.2 thousand dals of poire (minus 28.3 percent) and 1.5 million dals of mead (plus 10.2 percent).

In the first half of 2026, vodka production in Russia decreased to 30.12 million decaliters (dal): this is 4 percent less than in the same period of 2025. In general, the production of alcoholic beverages excluding beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead in Russia decreased by 6.8 percent to 68.85 million dal during the reporting period.
