OREANDA-NEWS  The cost of air tickets is growing partly due to the insufficiency of the aviation fleet, the country needs domestic aircraft, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Right now we absolutely need our modern domestic aircraft, and the increase in the cost of air tickets is partly due to the lack of an aviation fleet. On the one hand, the Western companies that supplied us with airplanes, for various political reasons, decided not to cooperate with us, and this is bad for them, as it undermines their reputation. But this is good for us to a certain extent, as it forces us to work on our own," Putin said during a direct line combined with the annual press conference.

The program "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin", which combines a large press conference of the head of state and a live line, started airing on Friday at noon.
