OREANDA-NEWS By the end of February 2024, there has been a sharp decrease in demand for used cars in Russia. This is according to the Kommersant newspaper, which reported that market participants have seen a cooling of citizens' interest in these vehicles.

According to analysts, demand for used cars fell by 22% over the last month of winter compared to the same period last year. Drome, which is active in the Far East and Siberia, has also seen a drop in interest from 11%.

Experts attribute this cooling of interest to several factors, including the sale of new cars from 2023 that are still in dealer warehouses, as well as a decrease in supply due to a lack of available vehicles.In mid-February of 2024, Autostat reported a decrease in Russian interest in used cars. According to the analytical agency, sales of used vehicles in Russia dropped by 10.1% year-on-year in January, with the total number of sales amounting to 324.7 thousand units in the first month of the year.
