OREANDA-NEWS In September, Russian residents spent a record 409.9 billion rubles on the purchase of new passenger cars over the past 11 months. This was shown by a study conducted by the agency Autostat and Gazprombank Autoleasing. His results are cited by TASS.

Compared to the August figures, the amount increased by 4.3 percent. However, there is a decrease of 13.6 percent compared to the first autumn month of last year. Then the Russians spent 474.5 billion rubles.

From October 13 to October 19, total sales of new passenger cars in Russia increased by six percent compared to the same period in 2024. At the same time, experts urge not to expect a sharp jump in new car sales and a rapid revival of the domestic car market in 2026.

There are also forecasts that by the end of 2025, sales of new Chinese passenger cars in Russia are at risk of collapsing by 25 percent.
