OREANDA-NEWS Slovakia will buy 152 tracked infantry fighting vehicles CV90 Mk IV made in Sweden, which will replace copies of Soviet BMP-1 and BMP-2, European Defence Review reports referring to the government of Slovakia, Gazeta.ru reports.

It is noted that the production of Swedish BMP began in 1993. They are equipped with automatic cannon Bushmaster III of 35 mm caliber. Version Mk IV is equipped with Scania engine up to 1000 horsepower and upgraded transmission X300.

Earlier it was reported that Slovakia and Germany could not agree on T-72 tanks for Ukraine. The German authorities announced the preparation of the relevant switchover back in mid-Spring, but the deal is stuck because of the resistance on the part of Slovakia. Berlin promised Bratislava 15 Leopard 2A4 tanks instead of 30 T-72s, which the Slovak authorities considered insufficient. Prior to this, the German government for the first time published a list of weapons supplied to Ukraine. It was also reported that Slovenia had transferred 35 Yugoslavian-made M-80 BMPs to Ukraine.
