OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian passenger aircraft SJ-100 (Superjet-100) received an atypical silver color to protect the airframe. The choice of color was explained by Rostec in Telegram.

It is noted that in order to accelerate the production of aircraft, after receiving the certificate, the plant has formed a large production reserve. Some of the finished airframes are in storage.

"For additional protection of gliders from the effects of atmospheric precipitation and ultraviolet radiation, a special silver coating was used," the state corporation said.
