The buyer of the unique Russian airline is named

OREANDA-NEWS Evraz Avia Service LLC ("EAC Group"), the former CEO of Zhukovsky Airport and Red Wings airline Evgeny Solodilin, is going to buy out the Volga-Dnepr cargo group, which includes the airline of the same name. According to Kommersant, the businessman has a plan to restructure the carrier's debts.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, the parties signed a preliminary agreement on the transfer of rights to the airlines Volga-Dnepr, Atran and AirBridgeCargo, ABC, as well as other organizations belonging to the group.
The uniqueness of Volga-Dnepr lies in the fact that until 2022 it was one of the world's largest air carriers of superheavy and oversized cargo, occupying, in particular, about half of the Russian market. After being sanctioned, it is in a systemic crisis — four of its 11 An-124s have been arrested abroad, and three are in a state of airworthiness, the journalists remind.
