OREANDA-NEWS The first deliveries of Lada Iskra to Belarus will begin in November 2025. The timing of the first shipments at the Innoprom exhibition in Minsk was announced to RIA Novosti by AvtoVAZ representative Evgenia Manukhina.
About 140 vehicles are planned to be delivered in the first batch.
"Everyone has been waiting for the Lada Iskra for a long time.<...> It is a more youthful model and is aimed at a buyer who does not want the Granta, which has been on the market for quite a long time, and the Vesta was too expensive for him, and the Iskra will suit him — a more compact car and aimed at a larger buyer," — said the company representative.
The first batches of Lada Iskra cars assembled at the Avtozavod Saint Petersburg production site went to AvtoVAZ dealerships on September 18. Previously, cars of the Japanese Nissan concern were produced at this site, and now Lada Iskra assembly kits are being delivered to the plant — painted bodies, power units, interior elements, chassis and other components.
Previously, AvtoVAZ planned to produce up to 4,000 units in 2025. However, the production plan had to be lowered due to a sharp drop in demand in the domestic market. The situation was influenced by a number of factors, including a regular increase in recycling, the tight monetary policy of the Central Bank, a decrease in the availability of car loans and a general rise in the price of new cars.
