OREANDA-NEWS  Volkswagen and Volvo are recognized as the most unreliable cars. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (RG), referring to the latest data from the J.D. Power analytical agency.

The German brand has the worst indicator. Volkswagen owners have recorded 301 malfunctions per 100 vehicles. Volvo is next in the list of problematic manufacturers. For the Swedish brand, which many associate with reference safety and resource, the statistics turned out to be close to critical — 296 defects per 100 cars.

Also unreliable were Land Rover cars with 274 failures, Jeep (267) and Audi (244).

Lexus cars are recognized as the most reliable cars — 151 breakdowns per 100 cars. Separately, the Lexus IS business sedan, recognized as the best in its class, was noted in the report. Buick came in second place, followed by Mini, Cadillac and Chevrolet.

The rating is based on data from a survey of American owners whose cars have been in service for three years (cars of the 2023 model year). The experts analyzed 184 types of potential defects in nine main categories, from powertrains to electronic assistants.

Experts note that the main share of complaints from anti-rating leaders was not caused by engine, gearbox or suspension failures. Customers complained mainly about failures in multimedia systems. In particular, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth modules, wireless charging, as well as telematics services and over-the-air updates.

Earlier, the owners of the Changan CS35 Plus crossover listed the typical problems of the model.
