OREANDA-NEWS The Crimean authorities have decided to increase the number of security checkpoints on the Crimean Bridge in the upcoming summer season in order to avoid traffic jams due to the temporary closure of the airport. This was stated by the head of the region Sergey Aksenov in an interview with Izvestia.

According to him, the relevant services are doing everything possible to make the inspection on the bridge more comfortable for drivers, as well as minimize waiting time. "Volunteers will be on duty at the site," he added.

Moreover, Aksenov recalled that due to the temporary closure of the local aviation plant, the load on the Crimean Bridge and the railway has increased significantly. He noted that in 2023, 14 percent of tourists arrived in Crimea via the overland route through new regions of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, a storm warning was announced on the territory of Kuban. From Monday to Wednesday, from March 18 to 20, it will be avalanche-prone in the mountains of the Krasnodar Territory above two thousand meters.
