OREANDA-NEWS  The immigration service of the Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali refused entry to 15 Russians in the first half of 2023 due to suspicious flights. This is reported by the Indonesian edition of VOICE.

According to the head of the Information and communication Technologies department of the immigration service of the air harbor, Shandro Bobby Raymon, this group of Russians was suspected of carrying out activities incompatible with their residence permit. "In the history of their travels, we see that they flew between Bali and Russia several times within one month. The distance is large, and this raises suspicions. The Immigration Service will conduct an investigation against foreigners, including checking the data stored in their mobile phones," the official explained.

According to him, 566 foreigners were denied entry to Bali in the first half of 2023. Among them, in addition to Russians, are twelve Americans, eleven Frenchmen, eight Australians and seven citizens of East Timor. Most of them lacked travel documents and Indonesian visas, and some had a passport validity period of less than six months. In addition, 16 foreigners were wanted by Interpol, and four people were connected with cases of pedophilia.

Earlier it was reported that the Australian was banned from entering Indonesia due to a small defect in his passport. 29-year-old Matt Vandenberg was flying from Sydney to Bali, where his friend's wedding was to take place. However, at the Indonesian customs, Vandenberg was informed that due to a torn page in his passport, he could not be allowed into the country and would be deported.
