OREANDA-NEWS A sharp increase in the incidence of measles has been recorded in Kyrgyzstan, more than 3.2 thousand cases have already been detected this year, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the republic told reporters.

"Since the beginning of the year, 3,289 people have fallen ill with measles, most of them children under the age of 4. The most cases are in Bishkek (989 people), in Osh (321 people), in Osh (683 people), Chui (515 people) and Jalal-Abad regions (501 people)," the representative of the press service said.

At the same time, according to statistics, only one case of measles was recorded in the republic last year, and three cases in 2021.
"In general, the situation with measles remains tense. Since the beginning of the school year, diseases have become more frequent among students of secondary schools and preschool institutions, among children who have not been vaccinated," the Ministry of Health clarified.


It is reported that due to the increase in morbidity, quarantine was introduced in several educational institutions, children were transferred to distance learning.
